Specialist, Quality Control and Assurance

Our client, a global chemical manufacturer, is seeking a Quality Control and Assurance Specialist to join its team in White Plains, NY. The Quality Control and Assurance Specialist will be responsible for the control functions for products/activities used to evaluate and approve the raw materials, finished products, and processes and procedures. In this job, you will be improving the company’s quality management processes.

Primary Responsibilities of a Quality Control and Assurance Specialist:

  • Support, implement, and improve quality control policies and methods as relates to chemical products
  • Support, implement, and improve quality control policies and methods as relates to chemical products
  • Utilize the ERP system to create master specifications, and inspection plans
  • Analyze markets, customers, suppliers, trends of regulation, and relevant best practices
  • Set quality specifications, and monitor product conformity to those specifications
  • Conduct audits of quality control, and develop quality metrics
  • Produce data reports to document test results
  • Draft declarations to respond to customer and supplier requests for quality surveys, and regulatory related inquiries
  • Investigate cause and make improvements based on customer claims and complaints

A successful Quality Control and Assurance Specialist will have:

  • 2+ years of experience in a quality control and/or quality assurance role in the Chemicals industry or similar
  • 2+ years of experience in a quality control and/or quality assurance role in the Chemicals industry or similar
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Understanding and knowledge of the guidelines for FDA Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, good laboratory practices, good manufacturing practices, and Quality Management – ISO 9000
  • Experience with ERP system(s)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree ideally in a scientific related field
  • Six Sigma training, Lean Manufacturing is a plus
